Prize Pool

HIGH SCORES

Every registration feeds the pot. Each category — University and Open — builds its own prize pool from its own registration fees, and the top three of each podium take home a percentage. More players, bigger prizes.

RankPlayerReward
1STY-O-U ?40% OF THE POOL
2ND? ? ?15% OF THE POOL
3RD? ? ?5% OF THE POOL

Percentages of the accumulated registration fees of each category — University and Open run separate pools and separate podiums.

THE POT GROWS EVERY TIME SOMEONE PRESSES START

Registration fees accumulate per category: University coins build the University pool, Open coins build the Open pool. Winners take a fixed percentage — so every new player raises the stakes for everyone.

SIMULATION · NOT LIVE DATA

EXAMPLE POOL

Illustrative math only — the real pool depends entirely on real registrations:

  • 400 coins × US$25 (University) = US$10,000 pool
  • 1ST → US$4,000 · 2ND → US$1,500 · 3RD → US$500

+ HALL OF FAME

Cash is only half the loot. Winning projects and their creators are featured in the past-events section of ioovc.org — permanent, public, portfolio-grade visibility.

Judging Criteria

STAT SCREEN

Every project is scored from 0 to 100 by the judging committee. Four criteria, four different weights — max out the heavy stats first.

C1 · IDEA & ORIGINALITY

40% OF SCORE

The idea itself: value proposition, competitive advantage and originality.

C2 · CLARITY

30% OF SCORE

How well the idea, its value proposition and its advantages are communicated.

C3 · FUNCTIONALITY

20% OF SCORE

Does what was promised actually work? UI/UX, fluidity and usability.

C4 · STABILITY & SAFETY

10% OF SCORE

Bugs, instabilities, accessibility gaps and security issues — the fewer the problems, the higher the score.

FINAL SCORE = ( 4×C1 + 3×C2 + 2×C3 + 1×C4 ) ÷ 10

Each criterion is scored from 0 to 100, so the maximum final score is a perfect 100. Highest final score wins the category.

Key Rules

Your project must function with a user interface in English. Additional languages and i18n are welcome bonus content.

Include a test login and password in your project description so the judging committee can actually play your build.

FAQ

Answers to the questions every player asks before inserting the coin.

Who can join?

Anyone, anywhere on the planet. The IOOVC is 100% online — no travel, no visa, just you and your project. Choose the Open category (US$50), or University (US$25) if you are an enrolled student.

What do winners actually get?

Cash and fame. 1st place takes 40%, 2nd takes 15% and 3rd takes 5% of their category’s accumulated registration fees — plus a permanent feature in the past-events section of ioovc.org, portfolio visibility in front of a global audience.

How big is the prize pool?

That depends on the players. Each category’s pool is the sum of that category’s registration fees, so it grows with every new registration. The live counter on this page tracks total registered participants for the current edition. Any dollar figure shown on this page is a simulation, never a live value.

Can I submit more than one project?

Yes. Register once per project, as many times as you like. Each registration is a separate entry with its own Stripe payment — and each one grows the pool.

Do I need proof of enrollment for the University category?

Not at registration — attaching it then is optional. But it becomes mandatory to redeem a prize: winners who cannot present valid proof of enrollment are disqualified without refund. If in doubt, play in the Open category.

How do I log into the platform?

Passwordless. Enter your email, receive a One-Time Password (OTP), and you are in. Sessions last 7 days.

How exactly is the winner decided?

Judges score each project from 0 to 100 using FINAL SCORE = (4×C1 + 3×C2 + 2×C3 + 1×C4) ÷ 10 — idea and originality (C1), clarity (C2), functionality (C3) and stability (C4). Highest final score tops the leaderboard.

When and how do I get paid?

Winners and scores are announced on September 10, 2026, right on this page. The organization then contacts winners via email or phone for the prize payout, by October 10, 2026.

READY PLAYER ONE?

Registration closes on August 10, 2026. Insert your coin, submit your project, and let the whole world watch you climb the leaderboard.
